This morning in Europe, the story of potential lower oil prices from the US midterm decision looking like a political system off better geopolitical diplomacy in the Middle East continues. So, as global equities take a risk on sentiment based on this, the AI trade where so much capital was concentrated is suffering.

But as it looks now like with the Democrats in being left-leaning that it is going to really stifle innovation with the tech trade, it could actually be more healthy in other ways. The underlying technology of AI has great utility to society, and for the last two years in the Trump presidency, it has had no breaks and has been capitalism on steroids. Major things that have came from that were no regulation and big overly leveraged CAPEX (capital expenditure); these two things alone have been at scrutiny from the public and Wall Street alike, and if a Democratic government has anything to do with it, these things will be addressed.

It might then change the dynamics in markets of the AI trade to be less speculative, but one could also say that markets are not meant to be for short-term volatility, but for healthy, regulated markets where investors can reap longer-term gains. NVIDIA is currently trading 0.33% down in pre-market trading at the time of writing after losing 3% on yesterday's trade.

Could it be a possible scenario that if the AI industry continues to lose value through political policies which slow down the build-out of that industry, then an effect of that is inflated hardware and memory prices come down? Also, not just from that but from other nuances like the literal build of data centers, which has been inflationary, could a slower build-out help with shorter-term inflationary effects from AI?

The London morning has been characterized by a decisive rotation into risk-sensitive assets, triggered by a notable cooling in US Treasury yields and a softening of the US Dollar’s recent grip on the currency complex. With the 10-year Treasury yield slipping below the critical 4.90% threshold, investors are aggressively repositioning into non-yielding assets like gold and high-beta segments of the equity and crypto markets. This shift is manifesting as a divergence between traditional value-heavy European indices, which are striking annual highs, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq 100, which remains entangled in a corrective phase beneath its short-term moving averages.

## Crypto: Bitcoin Establishes New Psychological Base Above 80,000

Bitcoin has fundamentally altered its technical landscape this morning, reclaiming and defending the 80,374.20 level after a period of intense consolidation. The breach of the 80,000 handle, confirmed by data from OKX, occurred with significant momentum as the session high reached 81,200.00, suggesting that the previously massive overhead sell orders have been absorbed.

From a market structure perspective, the move represents a clean breakout from the prior session close of 78,376.60, with the 24-hour volume on OKX alone reaching 0.73 billion dollars. While the absence of long-term moving average data in the current feed limits traditional trend-following analysis, the price action clearly depicts a "price discovery" phase where the former resistance at 80,000 now transitions into a primary support zone for the remainder of the London session.

Ethereum is mirroring this bullish sentiment with even greater relative strength, surging 4.06% to trade at 2416.02. After bouncing from a session low of 2310.41, ETH/USDT is now pressuring the session high of 2450.79, moving toward a total reclamation of the recent swing highs.

The surge is supported by robust turnover of 0.55 billion dollars on the OKX exchange, indicating that institutional demand is likely following the lead of the Bitcoin breakout. Solana has also joined the fray, climbing 3.95% to 96.760, effectively neutralizing the bearish pressure seen during the previous 24-hour cycle.

The technical objective for Solana bulls remains the psychological 100.000 barrier, which sits just above the current session peak of 98.160. As long as Bitcoin maintains its footing above 79,200, the broader crypto complex appears poised to maintain its upward trajectory through the US crossover.

## Forex: Australian Dollar Outshines as Greenback Consolidation Continues

AUD/USD has emerged as the clear volatility leader in the G10 space this morning, climbing 0.67% to 0.70150. This move is technically significant as it represents a decisive push above the 20-day moving average of 0.69980, a level that has acted as a persistent cap over the last fortnight.

The pair’s session high of 0.70270 brings the 50-day moving average at 0.70560 into immediate focus as a primary target. The strength in the Aussie is largely a derivative of the broader commodity rally and the narrowing of yield spreads as US rates soften.

If the 0.70000 psychological level can be defended on any intraday pullbacks, the path toward the 60-day swing high of 0.72390 begins to look less obstructed.

The US Dollar Index (DXY) is currently stuck in a narrow range around 101.526, essentially flat on the day but showing signs of distributive price action near its 50-day moving average of 101.030. EUR/USD is capitalizing on this inertia, gaining 0.26% to 1.12360 and maintaining a healthy distance from its 20-day moving average of 1.11980.

The technical posture for the Euro remains constructive while it holds above the 1.12000 pivot, though the presence of the 50-day moving average at 1.13620 suggests that any substantial medium-term recovery will require a close above the recent session high of 1.12710.

GBP/USD is trading at 1.34640, successfully navigating the London open by holding above its 200-day moving average of 1.34240. This is a critical development for Cable bulls; the 200-day line often serves as the "line in the sand" for institutional trend bias, and the current 0.22% gain suggests that the recent correction toward the 60-day swing low of 1.31385 may have run its course.

Meanwhile, USD/JPY remains heavy, sliding 0.09% to 158.326. The pair is sandwiched between its 20-day moving average of 157.940 and the 200-day moving average at 158.623. This compression indicates a volatility squeeze is imminent; a sustained break beneath 157.779 (the session low) would likely accelerate a test of the 50-day moving average at 157.366, especially if the 10-year US Treasury yield continues its descent toward 4.80%.

## Indices: European Blue Chips Surge While Nasdaq Lags on Yield Concerns

The DAX is the standout performer in the global equity complex today, having hit a fresh 52-week high of 26,654.56 during the morning trade. Currently sitting at 26,616.54, the German index is trading nearly 1,000 points above its 20-day moving average of 25,610.74, a testament to the sheer velocity of the current uptrend.

While the ATR14 of 331.77 suggests that the index is operating in a high-volatility environment, the move is fundamentally backed by a rotation into industrial and financial heavyweights. Traders will be looking for a daily close above the 26,600 mark to confirm the validity of this breakout, with the 20-day moving average serving as the ultimate support for the prevailing bullish trend.

In London, the FTSE 100 has cleared the 10,900 hurdle, currently trading at 10,917.81 after testing a session peak of 10,948.24. This move represents an 0.82% gain and places the index within striking distance of the psychological 11,000 milestone.

The technical structure is robust, with the price comfortably positioned above the 20, 50, and 200-day moving averages (10,735, 10,698, and 10,535 respectively). This "golden stacking" of moving averages suggests a mature and healthy uptrend that is likely to find buyers on any retracement toward the 10,830 level.

The picture is more nuanced across the Atlantic. Dow futures (YM) are tracking the European strength, rising 0.53% to 53,786.00 and pushing toward the 60-day swing high of 54,149.00. However, the Nasdaq 100 (NQ) is diverging sharply, shedding 0.52% to trade at 28,419.25.

The NQ has sliced through its previous close of 28,566.75 and is currently finding tentative support near its 200-day moving average of 28,114.18. This underperformance in tech is a classic reaction to the stabilization of yields at elevated levels; while the 10-year yield is down today, its position near 4.90% remains a significant headwind for growth valuations.

S&P 500 futures (ES) are caught in the middle, flat at 7,724.00, coiling tightly around the 50-day moving average of 7,728.33. The ES needs a reclaim of 7,740 to invalidate the morning's bearish drift, otherwise a retest of the 200-day moving average at 7,353.79 remains a structural possibility in the coming sessions.

## Commodities: Gold Reclaims Key Levels as Yields Retract

Spot gold is staging a massive recovery, gaining 1.47% to trade at 4132.70. This move is technically vital as it reclaims the 20-day moving average of 4088.74, shifting the short-term momentum from bearish to neutral-bullish.

After printing a session low of 4067.00, the yellow metal has surged nearly 70 dollars, benefiting from the 1.17% drop in the US 10-year Treasury yield. The immediate hurdle for gold remains the 50-day moving average at 4242.59, which coincides with a significant volume node from earlier in the quarter.

If the current momentum persists, silver is likely to follow; XAG/USD is up 0.99% at 52.635, having bounced off support at 52.275. Silver remains deeply discounted relative to its 200-day moving average of 70.075, suggesting that while the long-term trend is still recovering, the short-term bottoming process is well underway.

The energy sector is showing signs of life as well, with Brent crude climbing 1.35% to 95.900. Brent has successfully stayed above its 200-day moving average of 93.160, a level that has provided a floor throughout the morning session.

WTI crude is following suit, up 0.42% at 88.490, although it remains capped by its 50-day moving average of 95.280. The divergence between Brent and WTI reflects tighter international supply dynamics, though both benchmarks are finding support as the US dollar loses its upward momentum.

In contrast, Natural gas continues to languish, trading down 0.78% at 2.93600. The commodity is trapped below all major moving averages, with the 200-day line at 3.05440 acting as a formidable ceiling. Copper is also underperforming the broader commodity bounce, falling 0.27% to 6.38600, as it struggles to hold above its 200-day moving average of 6.21890 amid concerns over industrial demand in the tech sector.

## Rates: Treasury Yields Retreat from Recent Peaks

The US 10-year Treasury yield has become the primary driver of today's cross-asset volatility, falling 1.17% to 4.89400. Technically, this move is a rejection of the recent attempt to hold above 5.00%, and the yield is now drifting toward its 50-day moving average of 5.02610—which it has actually already broken to the downside.

The next major support for yields sits at the 200-day moving average of 4.55730. This retreat in yields is providing the necessary oxygen for the Gold and Bitcoin rallies we are witnessing this morning.

However, if the yield finds support at the 4.85% level and bounces, the current equity and commodity breakouts may see a swift "fake-out" reversal during the New York session.

## Into the US Crossover

As the focus shifts toward the New York open, the sustainability of Bitcoin’s 80,000 breakout remains the primary barometer for global risk sentiment. Market participants should monitor the 1.12710 level in EUR/USD and the 28,114.18 support in the Nasdaq 100 as these will likely determine if the current dollar weakness and tech softness are temporary or part of a larger structural shift.

The DAX and FTSE 100 are currently overextended based on their ATR readings, and while the trend is undeniably bullish, the risk of a "sell the news" reaction upon the US entry exists if the S&P 500 fails to reclaim its 50-day moving average at 7,728.33.
