Today saw some recovery after yesterday's historic stock market sell-off. A tech-led rally led the gains, but I'm sure a lot of traders and investors after the midterms feel just like after most major market events that the market is like a bottle of lemonade that is fizzed up and you need to let the fizz calm down before you drink from it again.

The high price of mega-cap tech stocks was something that President Donald Trump has great pride in what he calls SI super intelligence. He has also enjoyed the military capabilities of these big AI models often despite the opinions of any AI CEOs, and also the AI race cold war with China is not something he would be keen on losing so don't be surprised if he has a trick up his sleeve for ways of getting around things with the AI trade. If he does come out publicly with this supposed plan, it could make stocks rally and regain.

## Mega-Cap Tech and AI Infrastructure Outlook

Also worth noting is many Wall Street analysts are saying that the data centers are already set for build-out in 2027, so it's 2028 that is being scrutinized as possible slowdown of the build-out. NVIDIA shares ended the day up 2.78%. It's interesting to see how the sentiment of the midterms will affect the run-up to NVDA earnings report on the 17th.

Wall Street closed mixed on Friday as dip buyers returned to mega-cap tech while hawkish Federal Reserve commentary dampened broader market sentiment. The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 0.26 percent as investors digested post-election positioning and shifting expectations around US monetary policy following fresh economic data.

## Federal Reserve Signals Higher Rates

Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco President Mary Daly warned that higher interest rates are likely needed to fight inflation, reinforcing expectations for a December rate hike despite recent volatility in equity markets. Her remarks coincided with US consumer credit surging past forecasts, keeping borrowing costs and tighter policy at the forefront of trader concerns.

Technology shares staged a relief rally following a historic sell-off in AI equities, with names like Nvidia and AMD seeing buying interest despite ongoing concentration risks. However, Oracle shares dropped four percent following reports that Microsoft is winding down a cloud capacity agreement to rent artificial intelligence infrastructure.

## Corporate Movers and Economic Calendar

In corporate movers, DraftKings plunged more than 26 percent after releasing its third-quarter earnings update, while political noise escalated after Donald Trump named Stephen Miller as chief of staff. Traders now look ahead to Monday's economic calendar featuring Federal Reserve speakers and Treasury auctions.
