Reading a chart like a technical analyst
Technical analysis studies price itself — where buyers and sellers have stepped in before and how the market behaves when it returns to those areas. Upload a clean daily chart of any stock, index, currency or commodity and the tool highlights the zones that matter, then lets you talk through the setup.
Support and resistance. Support is a price area where falling markets have repeatedly found buyers; resistance is where rallies have stalled. These are zones rather than exact lines, and they become more significant the more times price has reacted to them.
Role reversal. When resistance breaks, it often turns into support on a later pullback — and the opposite after a breakdown. Watching how price behaves on that retest is one of the most common ways traders judge whether a breakout is genuine.
Candles and wicks. Long wicks show prices that were reached and then rejected. A long lower wick at support suggests buyers pushed back; a long upper wick at resistance suggests sellers did.
Multiple timeframes. Check the weekly chart for the bigger trend, the daily for key levels, and a shorter timeframe for timing. Levels that line up across timeframes tend to carry more weight.
Frequently asked questions
What kind of chart should I upload?
A clear screenshot of a daily candlestick chart works best. Show several months of price history, keep clutter like extra indicators to a minimum, and make sure the price scale on the right is readable.
Why daily charts?
Daily candles filter out much of the noise seen on very short timeframes and are watched by a large number of traders, which makes the levels they reveal more meaningful.
Does volume matter?
Yes. A move through support or resistance on heavy volume is generally more convincing than one on light volume. If your chart shows volume bars, include them in the screenshot.
Is this a trading signal?
No. The analysis is educational and describes what the chart shows. It does not know your goals or risk tolerance and is not investment advice. Always use your own judgement and manage your risk.
