How the earnings calendar is built

Confirmed dates come from company investor-relations announcements and SEC 8-K filings that carry the results release; estimated dates are projected from each company's historical reporting cadence and are always labelled as estimates. US companies report on their own schedule rather than a single official calendar, which is why the season has a rhythm rather than fixed dates: banks first, then industrials, with megacap technology concentrated in the final two weeks of each season. Pre-market reporters (typically 6:00–8:30am ET) release before the opening bell; after-close reporters (typically 4:00–4:30pm ET) release after it, with the earnings call following 30–60 minutes later.
