White House Crypto Summit and $billion in btc short liquidations

As we know, Mr. Donald Trump has a very pro-crypto stance, even launching his own meme coins, Trump coin being the most well known. His stance is that he wants to be less regulatory to not stifle innovation on the technology and have the United States of America and no other country take that place, especially China.

Just like any technology, it is often a race between the US and China, which was previously Russia in previous generations.

President Trump hosted a high-profile cryptocurrency roundtable at the White House, bringing together major regulatory figures and industry executives.

Key Attendees: Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong attended alongside SEC Chair Paul Atkins and CFTC Chair Mike Selig.
Regulatory Shift: The summit focused on shifting US crypto policy toward an explicit pro-innovation stance. CFTC Chair Selig signaled an end to aggressive enforcement actions, while SEC leadership discussed new rules designed to give token issuers clear guidelines.
Legislative Support: Both Garlinghouse and Armstrong publicly backed the CLARITY Act following the session, pushing for comprehensive statutory rules for digital assets.

XRP Market Response

The outcome drove immediate positive sentiment across the XRP order book:

Price Action: XRP broke out of a multi-week consolidation zone near $0.99, jumping over 6% in 24 hours to test resistance around $1.03 to $1.05.
Institutional Inflows: US spot XRP ETFs logged $5.81 million in net inflows during the session.
Ripple Corporate Developments: Sentiment was further reinforced by Ripple raising $475 million in debt to scale regional payment infrastructure and Garlinghouse softening his stance on a potential future Ripple IPO following past SEC legal resolutions.

We are seeing XRP push over $1, Bitcoin push over $70,000, and Ethereum push back over $2,000. This is especially important for XRP, which went through massive regulatory scrutiny and a drawn-out SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) case under the Gary Gensler era, who had an all-out war with Ripple CEO Mr. Brad Garlinghouse. Could we see BTC get back to $100,000 and XRP to $2?

Over $1 billion in BTC short positions were force-closed in approximately one hour according to CoinGlass data, which was a really bad hour for some professional crypto traders out there. Could this be a short squeeze where certain people will profit from it, and then things will settle down in the crypto market? and has trump strategically done the crypto summit with a quite week in market moving events such as very little high impact news catalyst on the top down macro economic data side ?

The US Treasury is expanding its bond buyback operations. The resulting drop in Treasury yields weakened the US dollar, which put pressure on the dollar. Could that help fuel the short position liquidations as well as the White House crypto summit?

Today the dollar is seeing more pressure and is down for the day again for the second day; gold is also slightly a tick down for the day.

Michael Saylor's strategy MSTR, which floats on the Nasdaq, is up 10% for the day at the time off writing in pre-market trading.
