Could Not So Great Britain Be Biting Off More Than They Can Chew With Russia?
Britain is not the former empire it once was in the days of the British Empire, and Russia is a very powerful adversary. It's not only not what it was in the days of the British Empire, but it's not what it was nationally and militarily in the days of Maggie Thatcher.
The Trigger Reports emerged confirming that Ukrainian forces used British-manufactured drones—specifically long-range models like BAE Systems' jet-powered Nyan—to execute deep strikes against targets inside Russian territory, including oil refineries, logistics hubs, and military assets.
Moscow's Reaction

UK Government Stance

The British military is nowhere near what it was; as they say, the land army would not fit inside a football stadium. But if we look even deeper than that, then we have to realize that the sense of nationalism is not what it once was in previous generations in a modern, liberal Britain. Are the fighting-age men the same as the British soldiers of the 80s and 90s, and is Andy Burnham a real Winston Churchill?
Another question is, will the people of the UK be behind a war with the Soviet Union for the sake of the sovereignty of Ukraine? Is the only confidence that comes from Britain that they have their NATO allies? Yet deep down, NATO has never been put to the ultimate test, and it could break up if other nations fail to come to the rescue. And through it all, there are real innocent civilian lives at risk.
