Markets today :NASDAQ back up 25 September 2026

Markets slightly risk back on today on this Fridays trade, and the speculation continues with Akamai today after the Anthropic deal and the share price back up today closing at around 3 % up , Microsoft around 3 % pulling the its weight for the NASDAQ gains compared to other mega cap company's that share prices ended mainly unchanged for the day , meanwhile META formally Facebook share prices ended down for the day as maybe some traders was taking profits or its hype over the new MUSE ai they are launching is losing steam .

On the macro economic data side we had US durable goods orders

Ex-Transportation: +0.3% MoM, beating estimates and extending gains for a 16th consecutive month.
Core Capital Goods (Ex-Defense & Aircraft): +1.6% MoM, pointing to strong business equipment investment.
Main Drag: Transportation equipment (-0.6%), pulled down primarily by nondefense aircraft (-4.3%).

Markets was mainly unfazed by durable goods orders today with no immediate reaction as traders brace for the next big macro economic event to bring volume .

Global markets navigated rising US yields as Fed rhetoric highlighted persistent inflation concerns. Reports of US-Iran technical talks tempered oil prices, while AI-related stocks remained a focus for investors.

Oil prices saw a decline following news of US-Iran talks entering a technical stage, potentially easing supply concerns. However, Iran indicated no nuclear concessions would be made. WTI traded at a significant discount to Brent.

US bond yields climbed higher, reacting to resilient economic data and anticipation of upcoming payroll figures. Fed officials reiterated inflation expectations could worsen, maintaining speculation of potential Fed hikes. This environment saw utilities stocks hit multi-year oversold levels.

Individual equities saw diverse moves; Microsoft headed for its highest close of the year, while Meta Platforms slid after a New Mexico jury ruling. Payoneer Global hit a 52-week high, while FMC reached a 52-week low.
